Last week saw a sharp weekly rise in the Capesize market. The Atlantic Capesize Index rose 1,711 points to 11,312 points, representing the highest level since mid-June.
Atlantic round voyage rates for 172kdwt vessels surged $14,200/day (+45%) to $46,000/ day. Fronthaul time charter earnings have increased from $53,400/day to a 4-week high of $61,000/day.
